PETA’s Worldwide Campaign
Ends in Victory!
The polar bears who had been languishing in filthy cages in the
sweltering heat of Puerto Rico with the Suarez Bros. Circus are
now thriving in their new homes. The bears were seized on November
19 and flown to zoos in the U.S. following an 18-month PETA campaign
that rallied support from polar bear experts, the U.S. Congress,
government officials in Germany and Canada, activists worldwide,
and celebrities like Ewan McGregor, Sarah McLachlan, Martin Sheen,
and Telemundo host María Celeste Arrarás. Some of
the bears have been released from quarantine, and PETA was on hand
to document their first swim.
